Brad Bannon is President of Bannon Communications Research, a Washington DC based political polling and consulting firm that helps Democratic candidates, labor unions and progressive issue groups win political and public affairs campaigns. Campaigns and Elections magazine named Brad a “mover and shaker” in the political consulting industry. He is also one of the “Democratic Insiders” in the biweekly National Journal pundit poll.
Brad appears frequently as a guest and political analyst for the cable TV networks, CN8 and the New England News Channel. He is also a frequent guest on the nationally syndicated radio show hosted by Leslie Marshall and on WHJJ AM talk radio in Providence, RI.
He is a columnist for Winning Campaigns, a magazine for political professionals and has written a numbers of articles for a variety of publications including Political.com, Roll Call and The Hill which cover national politics from Washington, DC.
Brad earned an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. from Syracuse University. He grew up in Rhode Island and in New York. He has two children. His daughter, Meighan teaches high school English and is a proud member of the National Education Association. His son, James is a college student and a political science major.

Before starting his company
in 1984 when he helped Booth Gardner become the governor of
Washington, Brad worked for two
other prominent Democratic consulting firms as a staffer on
several political campaigns and as a researcher for the
Almanac of American Politics.
Brad started Bannon Communications Research in Boston and
his clients in Massachusetts include Congressman Stephen
Lynch, Attorney General Martha Coakley, Mayor Joseph
Curtatone of Somerville and District Attorneys Bill Keating
of Norfolk and Dan Conley of Suffolk. In 1988, Brad worked
with the Massachusetts AFL-CIO in its successful campaign to
defend the state’s prevailing wage law.

Brad has done considerable
speaking on politics and training in polling, communications
and message development for a number of organizations
including Campaigns and Elections magazine, the Democratic
National Committee, the National Federation of Women
Legislators, the Brown-Tully Institute for Political Action,
the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the
National Education Association.
